Release Party!! Stuck in Between by Blakely Bennett

Heidi's Review:

In exchange for an honest opinion, I was given a complimentary copy of this book.

Please note that this book is in the erotica category for a reason-it is a titillating look at the life of Jacqs as she is trying to reconcile her relationships.   If you believe that sex should only be in the classic missionary style, this book will be too racy for you.  But if you like the sex scenes to be steamy and unambiguous, you should start reading Stuck in Between immediately.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book…I was flipping the pages at a frantic pace to figure out what happens to the cast of characters.  The sex scenes are hot and the complex relationships within this group of friends are intoxicating. During some of the more explicit sexual descriptions, I felt like a voyeur peeking through the blinds into the house!  I also found myself pondering the relationship between the main characters.  I don’t think I could come to the same resolution, but I certainly enjoyed reading about Jacqs’ considerations of her dilemma.  Author Blakely Bennett does an excellent job of character development and keeps her reader engaged by expertly weaving this complicated tale. I am looking forward to the next installment, as further books about this group of friends are planned in the series.

Bond, too sexy for his own good, wants Jacqs for himself as he “dates” his way through the female population of South Florida. He selfishly doesn’t see the conflict of interest.

Red, Bond’s best friend, has watched Bond take Jacqs for granted for way too long and soon stakes his own claim on her.

Will Red and Jacqs budding relationship pull apart their tight-knit group of friends and will Jacqs survive being Stuck In Between.

Author Bio:

Blakely Bennett grew up in Southeast Florida and has been residing in the great Northwest for over eight years. She graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a degree in psychology, which accounts for her particular interest in crafting the personalities, struggles, and motivations of her characters. She is an avid reader of many genres of fiction, but especially erotica and romance. Writing has always been her bliss. She is attracted to stories of self-struggle and ultimate recovery.

Blakely is married to a wonderful, loving and supportive husband, also a writer, who helps to keep her grounded. She is a mother, a communitarian, a lover of music (always on while she is writing—thank you, Pandora), and a good friend. An advocate of love and female empowerment, she is a facilitator for a women’s group. She loves to walk and hike for exercise and finds that, since moving to Seattle, WA, she is now one of those “crazy” people who walk in the rain.

Stuck In Between (erotic romance) is her 5th novel. She is also the author of the dark erotic suspense, My Body Trilogy (My Body-His, My Body-His (Marcello) & My Body-Mine) and co-authored the contemporary romance, The Demarcation of Jack with her husband, Dana Bennett.

Review: Shattered Promises by Jessica Sorensen

Shattered Promises (Shattered Promises, #1)Shattered Promises by Jessica Sorensen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The author sucked me into this novel...I was just as clueless as Gemma and I could hardly wait to put all of the pieces together. I still don't have all the information I need to understand her complicated world, so I immediately downloaded the next book.

If you liked Discovery of Witches, I think this book will appeal to you.

Review: Crashed

Crashed by Kristy Bromberg

The third installment in the Driven trilogy did not disappoint.  Still the high drama, sensual read we have come to expect from Kristy Bromberg.  Of all the books, this was certainly my favorite.  Maybe because it didn’t end with a big cliffhanger leaving you breathless for the next book!

Coming into the checkered flag for this series, we join Colton and Rylee on the last phase of their romance.  I can’t talk much more about the plot without giving away spoilers!  Suffice it to say, their romance is never short of hot sex, crazy twists and an ensemble cast to round everything out.  I greatly appreciated the epilogues in this novel-very satisfying for a reader who has been obsessing for the release of this book.

The Driven trilogy overall was a great read and the type of the books that become all consuming.  I almost read Crashed in a single sitting, if only work had not interrupted.  Some of my “concerns” in the earlier books in the series are resolved in the books.  Colton becomes more real to me in this book and seems like a fallible man working on his issues instead of a cretin.
